Since 2009, Polishing The Professional (PTP) has operated as an Employment Network (EN) with the Social Security Administration’s (Social Security) Ticket to Work (TTW) Self Sufficiency Program. As an EN, Polishing The Professional has an agreement with Social Security to provide access to our services to beneficiaries at no cost.
Polishing The Professional provides TTW participants the choices, opportunities and support they need to enter and maintain employment. The goal of our program is to reduce and whenever possible, eliminate dependence on cash benefits. In other words, we work hard to help participants establish independence and grow!
Polishing The Professional operates as a Consumer Directed Services (CDS) Employment Network (EN). This means we give the responsibility to beneficiaries about key decisions for service and allow beneficiaries to make their own decisions regarding the needed employment services and supports.
Ticket to Work participants can also extend the advantages of certain work incentives by enrolling in our Ticket To Work program. For example, participants will not have to undergo the medical Continuing Disability Review (CDR), as long as they are making timely progress toward the employment goals we set. They may also be eligible for a nine-month Trial Work Period (TWP) where they will not lose their benefits.
