Job Description:
This position is responsible for the complete life cycle of inventory including requisitioning, receiving, storing, disbursing, shipping, and delivery. This position is also responsible for other related areas such as inventory control, discrepancy resolution, and inventory inspection based on Company regulations and safety standards.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language, and in our Caribbean bases, Spanish is also desirable. Must be able to use computer terminals and have the ability to type. Must be able to report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
License: Valid driver’s license
Citizenship: Legal right to work in the United States
Experience: Twelve (12) months experience in general warehouse or similar type supply function is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to perform duties while lifting, bending, stooping, carrying and pulling stock items. Lift up to 50 lbs. Operate motorized vehicles and manual pallet jack weighing up to 1 1/2 tons in confined areas using depth perception. Operate power and hand tools by twisting, reaching, lifting and gripping. Climb on ladders or bins. Work in high noise areas. Tolerate dust and toxic chemicals. Read and write legibly to complete forms and/or acknowledge messages, as well as identify company part numbers, invoice bill of lading, and shipper numbers as required. Must be able to operate standard transmission vehicles including, but not limited to, trucks, vans, tractors, forklifts and station wagons.
Training: Those selected for training will attend two (2) weeks indoctrination.
Uniforms: The Company will pay 50% for the employees first uniform set and the employee shall pay 50%. The employees portion will be payroll deducted.
Salary: All inventory control wages are governed by the contract agreed upon between American Eagle and the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Annual increases are based on Company anniversary dates as specified in the contract.
Employment Requirements: Federal law requires American Eagle to determine an applicants history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position. This position may be subject to DOT testing. If applicable to the position, a candidate must fulfill a fingerprint-based criminal background check to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA). Candidates must also be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US customs security badges, if applicable.
