Job Description

Position Description The Social Media Manager will be responsible for crafting and executing a social strategy for one of the most exciting social media departments in the country. In addition to managing millions of Facebook Fans at the corporate level, the successful candidate will also work with thousands of local agents. This entails the creation, documentation and execution of the strategy for both corporate and local, as well as being the voice of Farmer’s social media team with the agents. It is a unique opportunity to work on a project on the cutting edge of social media. Position Requirements • Provides business technology consultation to the business units, service centers and state offices, in aligning technology solutions with business strategies to meet the needs of the end users. • Actively seeks ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information on technical trends and competitive practices relative to the business. • Oversees user administration issues associated with agents and employees. • Assists in the coordination with business partners to recommend social media solutions to meet business goals and objectives. • Analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations regarding existing systems and procedures to ensure meeting the needs of the Agency Force, the Business Units and State Offices. • Meets with Agents and District Managers to assess their needs utilizing structured interview processes to establish business priorities; consults with technical subject matter experts and develops alternative technical solutions; advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities; recommends improvement methods. • Implements processes and methodologies to establish an effective, in- house research capability. • Monitors software to determine improvements in user interfaces, training or functionality. • Oversees user administration issues associated with agents and employees. • Maintains security data and access to all e-tools. • Works with business partners and I/T functions to communicate and clarify business needs. • Assists in maintaining the quality control of all sites and tools. • Researches and maintains vendor relationships for social media solutions. • Provide technical problem solving and consultation on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to meet the needs of the users consistently and effectively. • Manage and monitor the effectiveness of website links, service providers, application and database utilization, security directories, and project assignments. • Keeps current with industry trends and makes recommendations for new technology and/or tools. • Provides regular written and verbal status reports on all new and ongoing projects. • Assists in the gathering and analyzing of data and metrics to determine project success and makes recommendations to improve success. • Establish and manage social media user standards, services and expectations. • Evaluates and recommends software/hardware additions or changes as it effects e-Business social media. Education Requirements 4 year college degree Experience Requirements 5 years in a professional level job in online marketing or social media related area.
